Disorder call leads to two arrests for vehicle break-ins

EAST RIDGE, HAMILTON COUNTY, TN (WRCB) -- Police get call about a disorder and end up arresting two for theft.

East Ridge Police responded to the 5700 block of Scott St. in reference to a disorder, early Thursday morning.

The homeowner at found a 17 year old female inside her vehicle attempting to steal items. The homeowner went out to confront the suspect. The suspect then hit the victim and a struggle ensued until officers arrived just 3 minutes later. Officers found several vehicles that had been burglarized on the street.

The suspect was transported to Parkridge East Hospital to be treated for injuries she received during the incident. Upon her release she was transported to the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center where she was charged with Burglary of an Auto and Assault.

Officers have also arrested Travis W. Burroughs, an 18 year old, white male of Rossville, GA. The officer's investigation found that Burroughs had entered a garage at another house on Scott St. to steal a bicycle in addition to entering 2 vehicles. Mr. Burroughs has been charged with 2 counts of Burglary of an Auto and 1 count of Burglary.
