GATLINBURG, SEVIER COUNTY (WRCB/NBC) – Snow is beginning to fall high in the Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee.

According to the NBC affiliate in Knoxville, WBIR-TV, the white stuff is falling in Sevier County.

Road crews in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park are preparing for the possible winter weather.

The frosty forecast has also caught the attention of staffers over at Ober Gatlinburg.
"It makes us pick up the pace significantly, because we know that the weeks are counting down until we're ready to begin snow-making operations," said John Cossaboom, Director of Skiing.
Despite Ober's green and grassy slopes, workers are already dreaming of snow.   They actually started preparing for this winter back in the spring, when crews started work on a number of upgrades, including a larger beginner area and new rentals services.
