Georgia, Chattanooga leaders discuss high speed rail

CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - A meeting is underway, to discuss a high speed rail between Atlanta and Chattanooga.

Earlier this year, the Georgia Department of Transportation applied for a grant to accelerate plans for the maglev.

Transportation officials have been looking at the impact a high speed rail would have on the area.

It would run from Atlanta to Chattanooga. Then continue on to Nashville and Louisville, Kentucky.

GDOT's commissioner is meeting with Chattanooga city leaders.
