Chattanooga carjacking suspect arrested in N Georgia
CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - Police in Chattanooga say a man accused of carjacking in Tennessee was arrested in North Georgia.
Thirty-two-year-old Cedric A. Williams was arrested by the Walker County Sheriff's Department, following a reported carjacking in Chattanooga.
The alleged carjacking occurred around 4:00 a.m. at 2727 Rossville Boulevard.
Police say the car's owner, Robert Garth, 45, was run over by the car while attempting to stop Williams.
Williams suffered a broken leg and was transported to Erlanger Medical Center.
Deputies in Walker County spotted Williams in Garth's car on St. Elmo Avenue shortly after the incident. Deputies say Williams was in possession of burglary tools and drug paraphernalia.
Williams is currently being held in the Walker County Jail, awaiting extradition to Tennessee on charges of aggravated robbery, theft over $1000, carjacking and possession of burglary tools.
