Man arrested in morning stabbing

CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) – Police have arrested a man suspected in an early morning stabbing.

According to police, Tim Tellis, 48, was arrested on aggravated domestic assault and aggravated assault charges Friday morning.

Police say they were called to 2302 Windsor Street, Apartment 6, around 2:15 a.m.  The caller said Tellis had been beating on the door of the apartment and refusing to leave.  The caller told police someone had been stabbed and the suspect had a wound on his head.

During the altercation, Dominique Timmons, 18, was stabbed in his stomach and elbow by Tellis. Tellis, who was intoxicated at the time, fell to the ground and hit his head while throw objects at witnesses.

Police say Tellis is the ex-boyfriend of Timmons' mother.

Timmons was transported to an area hospital for treatment, his condition has not been released.

Tellis was transported to an area hospital, treated and released. He has been booked at the Hamilton County Jail.
