MCMINN COUNTY, TN. (WRCB) -- Channel 3 Eyewitness News has learned that a coal bunker exploded at the Bowater plant in Calhoun, Tennessee late Thursday afternoon.
The coal bunker is used to store coal that is used to generate energy for the mill.
Bowater's emergency response team went into action when the fire broke out. They secured employees and started putting out the fire. Other fire departments responded to offer help.
Life Force took one employee to Erlanger. According to a spokesperson with Bowater, this is the only injury.
The fire is under control. It will be a few days before the fire is completely out but operations will continue.
There is no cause on what started the fire.
A Bradley County Deputy was involved in a shooting early this morning.
