CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) -- The tornado damaged one home so severely, it's been deemed "unlivable".

This is damage residents of Queen Aire Lane saw Wednesday morning.

A huge tree was yanked from the ground and a tarp covered gaping a hole in the roof of a home.

One homeowner said he found debris at the end of his cul-de-sac that came from a half mile away.

The homeowners let Channel 3 inside today to see the extensive water damage.

You can see water rings on the ceilings and even a bucket on the bed to catch dripping water.

The wife said she was frightened as she saw the storm headed her way.

"I could see it coming across the water and all the sudden... All this debris started hitting the window. I ducked. I thought it was coming at me so I ducked behind the counter."

Her husband says emergency officials arrived quickly, because a police officer spotted the funnel.

"The officer coming down Amnicola highway saw it so he followed it out here, right behind the thing right as it went through," he says.

In all, six homes on Queen Aire Lane were damaged.
