CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) -- Police need your help finding some copper thieves who've hit the same business twice in recent months.

They did some serious damage to the building in the process. Thieves knocked out cinder blocks, not once but twice in just a matter of weeks.

Thieves knocked the blocks out of the wall Walter A. Wood supply on Rossville Boulevard. The first time they came up empty handed.

"They attempted to but apparently they didn't knock a hole big enough," says Chattanooga Police Sgt Rebecca Shelton.

Police say the thieves were after copper wire and other tools.

On August 9th, they came back. Police aren't sure how many suspects they're after.

"Right now it appears to be just one but could be another waiting outside," says Sgt Shelton.

Managers say the crook got about $2000 in copper and tools. That doesn't count the mess they made busting up the building. Investigators say this type of crime has been on their radar for sometime.

"We've had over the past several years copper wire in houses, abandoned houses, and residential, so it can be a problem," says Sgt. Shelton.

They're hoping to take care of this problem before it happens again. You might have the key to solving this case.

"Right now we don't have a vehicle description so if anybody has info, call in," says Sgt. Shelton.

If you have any information about this crime. Contact Crime Stoppers at 698-3333. Your call could earn you a cash reward.
