Ambulance driver turns self in after bad wreck

ROME, FLOYD COUNTY, GA (WRCB) -- A Walker County ambulance driver turned himself into the Floyd County Jail.
Gerald Zigner is charged with reckless driving and driving on the wrong side of the road.
Investigators believe he may have fallen asleep behind the wheel last month, when he was transporting a patient to Rome.
He hit a car head-on and the ambulance flipped on its side.
A passenger in the car was seriously injured, and is now recovering at a rehabilitation facility in Rome.
