FORT OGLETHORPE, CATOOSA COUNTY (WRCB) - The investigation into a former technology executive is far from over. Monday investigators tell Channel 3, Greg Austin, could face more charges and they are looking into the possibility of more victims.
A father, who only wanted to be identified as "Mike", says he fears his 13-year-old daughter may have been sexually involved with Austin.
"They just told me they were going to one of the girls' houses on Sand Mountain," says "Mike". His 13-year-old daughter told him one of her friend's relatives was picking them up.
"She would call him a 'rich uncle'," Mike says. That's the way his daughter's friend would refer to the man. "Her 'rich uncle' she said."
Days later, one of the girls told Fort Oglethorpe Police they actually went to a Super 8 Motel with a man named Greg Austin. It's there, a 17-year-old claims Austin raped her. Austin was arrested on the 14th and charged, but with child molestation, not rape.
According to the Fort Oglethorpe incident report a 15-year-old girl locked herself in the bathroom while Austin allegedly had sex with the girl as "Mike's" daughter was made to watch.
"It's made me wonder if my own daughter has been involved with him somehow," he says.
The father is questioning because he remembers at least three other times when his daughter and the 15-year-old went to a McDonald's to get money from that same 'rich uncle'. He says one time the man gave the 15-year-old $500. "Mike" says the 15-year-old would share the money with his daughter; the girls would then use it to go shopping.
"They wouldn't stay at the McDonald's for a long period," says "Mike". "Not enough time for anything to be going in my mind."
After all that's happened, the father says he's not sure about anything anymore. He says he feels bad this happened while the girls were in his care.
"I wish I could just take it all back and it never happened," he says. "Just start over again. Then just say no to these kids so they wouldn't have ended up there, but I can't do that. I don't have that power."
Heather Knight, The mother of the 17-year-old girl believes Austin paid the 15-year-old to bring her friends to the motel for sex.
Knight says her daughter told police she had never met Austin before, and thought she was going to a party.
Austin is charged with child molestation, and should be considered innocent unless proven guilty.
