Columbus lands in Chattanooga

Posted: Updated:

CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - It's a gorgeous afternoon to spend on the water and take in a little history.

A sailing museum floated into Downtown and is now docked at the City Pier.

Two Columbus ship replicas are quite a sight.

The Niña and Pinta are open to the public for self-guided tours.

The Niña was built entirely by hand and is considered the most historically-correct Columbus ship ever built.

In fact, it was used in the movie "1492" starring Gerard Depardieu.

The ships are in Chattanooga until November third.
