Free health screenings for Chattanooga's Latino population
CHATTANOOGA (WRCB)-- Free health screenings were available to Chattanooga's Latino population Sunday.
The 11th Annual Latino Health Fair was held at Eastside Elementary School.
Families took advantage of everything from dental to spinal screenings.
More than a dozen booths were set up to educate the community.
Blood Assurance was one organization on hand to provide services that the uninsured might not have access to.
"They can't have blood pressure taken at a doctor's office, we offer it here for free. We are also taking blood donations, which is a great way to check for diseases as well," says Karla Ramirez with Blood Assurance.
About 600 people were expected to attend.
The fair is held every October to coinside with Bi-National Health Week.
