CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) – Assault charges have been filed against a Cleveland man who allegedly threatened his ex-girlfriend, another man and his brother with a shotgun.

According to Police, the incident happened around 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at 6840 Robin Drive.

Officers say Elizabeth Bookout told police her ex-boyfriend, Ryan Anderson, arrived at her home intoxicated and carrying a shotgun, threatening to shoot himself.

Police say Bookout sent a message to Daniel Wysong, who police say is Bookout's current boyfriend, as Anderson left abruptly.

Wysong family members say tell Eyewitness News Bookout called the family home and the neighbors drove up to the house to protect the woman until police arrived.

As Daniel Wysong and his brother, Matthew, arrived at Bookout's home, police say Anderson returned and pointed his shotgun at the Wysong brothers.

That's when Daniel Wysong shot Anderson with a handgun, striking Anderson in the hand.

Anderson drove himself to Parkridge hospital. His injuries are not life-threatening, but will require surgery.

Warrants for three counts of aggravated assault have been filed against Anderson.

No charges are expected against Daniel Wysong.
