CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) -- More than a hundred breast cancer survivors came together to celebrate life Tuesday morning.
160 women gathered at First Centenary Methodist Church for the annual survivors salute breakfast, it's the kick off to the Race for the Cure week.
Organizers say the number of survivors has doubled since last year. They say bringing these women together is encouraging.
"When you have a one year survivor or a person that's just been diagnosed, when they get the opportunity to speak with someone that might be a 10, 20 even 25 years survivor, it's really an inspiration," says Carol Money, Race for the Cure chairwoman.
Race for the cure is this Sunday. More than seven thousand people have already registered.
