City buys restaurant for revitalization project

ROSSVILLE, WALKER COUNTY (WRCB) - Rossville city officials hope the purchase of three pieces of property will help in the city's revitalization project.

At a news conference on Tuesday, officials said they had purchased the former Roy's Grill on Chickamauga Avenue, a lot behind the restaurant and a third lot on Gordon Avenue.

City leaders said the property will be deeded over to the Rossville Downtown Development Authority as part of the city's comprehensive plan.

RDDA chairman Ron Wade said that improving the business offerings in the city will bring about a renewed interest of its citizens to add many leisure activities to the area.

The city did not say specifically what the new properties would be used for.
