Teaching kids it's okay to be different
CHATTANOOGA (WRCB)-- A new exhibit at the Creative Discovery Museum is teaching kids it's okay to be different.
Kids are getting a chance to see what it's like to live with a disability.
The exhibit features hands-on simulations within school and home settings.
Saturday, children saw for themselves how challenging activities like playing basketball can be with a disability.
The exhibit also gives kids a chance to ask questions in hopes of encouraging kids to interact with one another, no matter their differences.
Parents we talked to say the exercise was eye opening for them, too.
"Some of these exhibits make it clear to understand that our society should make it easy for people with disabilities to get around," says Kevin Luce.
The Creative Discovery Museum will house the exhibit now through November 7th.
