CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) – A construction worker was seriously injured while working on a forklift at the Roadtec site on Manufacturers Road.
According to police, 21-year-old Eugene David Blair of Maryville was working on a forklift when his neck became stuck between the railing of the lift and a steel beam.
Blair lost consciousness, but he fellow workers were able to get to him and he was taken to Erlanger by ambulance.
Investigators say the incident was an accident and that Blair's condition is improving since he arrived at the hospital.
Blair is an employee of Metal Craft, a company in Friendsville, Tennessee, contracted to work on the Roadtec construction site.
