Death row inmate now key suspect in unsolved murder

Posted: Updated:

DAYTON, RHEA COUNTY (WRCB) - A man already on Tennessee's death row is now suspected in another murder.

Jerome Harbison is scheduled to be put to death in February.

He was found guilty of beating an elderly St. Elmo woman to death, in 1983.

Now, Dayton Police say Jerome Harbison is a strong person of interest in the 1975 murder of Carolyn Germany.

Her body was found in Richland Creek in Dayton.

The TBI questioned Harbison but never charged him in the case.

Dayton investigators say they've tried to reach Harbison, but he's refused to talk with them.
