Ringgold police chief decision delayed

RINGGOLD, CATOOSA COUNTY (WRCB) - The Ringgold City Council has delayed a decision on a new police chief.

That decision came after the council spent an hour-and-a-half in an executive session behind closed doors.

There are three finalists for the position, Lieutenant Dan Bilbrey of the Catoosa County Sheriff's Office, Officer Steve Blevins of the Fort Oglethorpe Police Department and Sergeant Wilborn Dycus of the Ringgold Police Department. Dycus is currently serving as interim police chief.

Council members did not give a reason for the delay.

They're expected to hold a special called meeting later this month to make their decision.
