Cleveland woman returns home to find burglar
BRADLEY COUNTY (WRCB)-- Bradley County Sheriff's deputies responded to a burglary-in-progress call from a woman who returned home Sunday to find a strange vehicle parked in her driveway.
She told deputies as she walked toward the front door she saw the light go off in an upstairs bedroom and seconds later a man exited the front door.
The woman said the man drove down her driveway but at the end, ran into a ditch on Lebannon Road. He left on foot. About 200 yards away responding units took Stephen D. Voyles into custody.
The investigation revealed pry marks on an exterior door and several items in the home had been moved or thrown on the floor.
Voyles, who is 46, was charged with aggravated burglary, driving under the influence, driving on a revoked license, possession of burglary tools, possession of prohibited weapons and violation of implied consent.
