SODDY-DAISY, Tenn. (WRCB) -- Three games into the 2010 season, it's obvious Soddy-Daisy's offensive gameplan has changed a bit since last year.
The formerly pass-happy Trojans (2-1) have turned to the run, mainly because they can give the ball to Cedric Edwards.
The talented tailback rushed for 232 yards and three touchdowns to lead Soddy-Daisy to a 19-0 rivalry upset of previously unbeaten Ooltewah. The performance has garnered Edwards our Friday Night Football Player of the Week honors for Week 2.
Edwards scored all three touchdowns in the first half on runs of 21, 5, and 7. He churned out 108 yards on the ground in the first quarter alone, and was up to 167 at the break.
Other standout performances from Week 2 were:
-- Bledsoe County's Cody Holloway 17-of-27 passes for 212 yards and six touchdowns in the Warriors' 41-0 rout of Grace Academy.
