CSLA and CSAS line to be recognized this year

Posted: Updated:

HAMILTON COUNTY (WRCB)—The Hamilton County Department of Education has chosen to recognize "The Line" formed for Kindergarten admissions at Chattanooga School for the Arts and Sciences and Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts.

"The Line" began on August 28th, earlier than any other year. It initially was ended because school officials wanted to implement a new process and do away with the first come, first served method.

Kindergarten applications will be available on Tuesday, September 7th. Applications are available at CSAS, CSLA, and on the HCDE website.

Applications will be accepted on a first come, first served basis on Saturday, September 18th, from 8:00 a.m. 9:00 a.m. at CSAS.  After 9:00 a.m. on September 18th, applications will continue to be accepted at both schools during regular school hours.  All applications will be stamped with the date and time received.

School administrators and Central Office are working on a new process for future years. Parents should look for the new plan before the next school year to learn how to apply to CSAS and CSLA.

TESTED: Best bets for booster seats

    Tuesday, November 21 2017 4:11 AM EST2017-11-21 09:11:10 GMT

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has tested 16 new booster seats for 2017, all but 3 have earned the agency's highest rating of "best bet."

The "best bet" rating means a booster provides a good safety belt fit for a typical 4 to 8 year old child in almost any car, minivan or SUV.
