ALTAMONT, GRUNDY COUNTY (WRCB) - The former school superintendent in Grundy who was convicted of shooting a school employee has been cleared to seek a teaching job.
Joe Nunley's background check came up clear after serving his required probation for reckless aggravated assault.
Current Director of Schools says Nunley also cleared an interview, and a decision on hiring Nunley will be made later this week.
Nunley shot Michael Byers in the head after a confrontation as Byers drove by the Nunley home.
Nunley's criminal record has now been expunged.
