CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) -- Local Red Cross volunteers are prepared for the worst.
A three-person team left Wednesday morning for North Carolina, ahead of Hurricane Earl's landfall.
The small group is taking it's emergency relief vehicle to Raleigh, preparing to help victims and first responders.
"We basically provide snacks and water for the clients and the workers, the first responders. We're just there for comfort and aide," says Debra Welsh with the Chattanooga Area Red Cross.
The volunteers that left Wednesday have made a two-week commitment.
Local Red Cross leaders say they are prepared to send more volunteers if needed.
