Update: Building fire in Dalton

Fire investigators say a fire at a building in downtown Dalton was accidental.

It started seven o'clock when firefighters rushed to the building on Dozier Street.

The building, which used to House American Linen, was scheduled for demolition, and crews had been working there.

The demolition crew was cutting steel, which caused sparks to fly, investigators believe those sparks rekindled causing the fire.

DALTON, WHITFIELD COUNTY, TN (WRCB)-- Dalton Fire Department is currently on scene of a fire at an abandoned building on Dozier St.

According to the Fire Department the fire is under control but firefighters are working on putting the fire out.

The building used to house American Linen and is slated for demolition.

No injuries have been reported. No word on how the fire started.
