5 drug arrests in Fort Payne over the weekend
FORT PAYNE, AL. (WRCB)— Five people were arrested over the weekend after two separate incidents led police to the discovery of illegal drugs.
On Saturday, Justin Adam Rucks, age 24, and Danielle Nicole Rucks, age 25, both of Fort Payne, were arrested after officers found an undisclosed amount of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and also marijuana that was growing in the backyard during a search of their home.
Both were charged with unlawful possession of controlled substance, 2nd degree unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
The couple is still in custody awaiting bond.
On Sunday, police in Fort Payne made three more arrests after receiving several complaints of possible drug activity at a home on Woodland Drive in Ider.
When police arrived, they found 44-year-old Thomas Douglas Hart running out his backdoor. Hart's ex-wife, Donna Kay Hart, age 51, and Jennifer Inez Eaton, age 32, were sitting in the living, which smelled of a strong chemical.
A search warrant was obtained and during the search, officers found a medium-sized methamphetamine lab, an undisclosed amount of meth, marijuana, and other drug paraphernalia.
Police were able to catch Thomas Hart and all three were arrested and charged with manufacturing a controlled substance, unlawful possession of controlled substance, 2nd degree unlawful possession of marijuana, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Donna Hart was also charged with four outstanding warrants for traffic violations in DeKalb County.
All three individuals remain in jail without bond at this time.
