CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - A report from the state comptroller indicates more than $657,000 is missing from Tennessee counties.

A few of them are nearby.

Bledsoe, McMinn, Polk and Sequatchie counties are all on the comptroller's report.

The comptroller's report explains how the shortages were discovered, and what steps have been taken to correct the problems.

The report indicated about $3,000 was missing from the Bledsoe Sheriff's Office; more than $15,000 missing from the McMinn County Courts; $13,000 missing from Polk County Schools;

The information about cash shortages and other thefts are for the year that ended June 30th, 2009.
