Betty White comes to Chattanooga

CHATTANOOGA (WRCB)--Television legend and recent Saturday Night Live host Betty White was in Chattanooga Sunday.

The golden girl made her first stop at Memorial Hospital.

White, who dubs herself a lover of animals, went along with a therapy dog team to lighten the moods of cancer patients.

White then took center stage at the Life Expo for Boomers and Seniors sponsored by WRCB and our partners at the Times Free Press.

White sat down with Eyewitness News to talk about her recent appearance on Saturday Night Live, her new show "Hot in Cleveland" and her career.

The 88-year-old has been in show business for 63 years and has no plans to slow down any time soon.

"Oh but look at the privileges you get. Growing old isn't bad at all I promise you. Everybody spoils you rotten, you get by with murder. I cannot say how lucky I've been. People have been wonderful to me my whole life. If you hear me complain about anything, throw me out because there is no excuse for it. I've been so lucky, and still lucky, and still loving what I do," says White.

White says this was her first visit to Chattanooga and Tennessee.
