ROCK SPRING, WALKER COUNTY (WRCB) – Deputies in Walker County have arrested an 18-year-old man in connection with a shooting Thursday.

The shooting happened just before 11:00 a.m. at the MAPCO on Highway 27 in Rock Spring.

The victim is a 51-year-old man.  Officials are not releasing the victim's name until his family has been notified.

According to authorities, 18-year-old Eric Brandon Carden, the victim and Carden's mother were involved in an argument at a home on Clyde Byrd Road.  When the victim drove away from the home, Carden fired three shots from a 410 shotgun into the vehicle.

Carden then followed victim to the MAPCO Mart where he fired two more shots, hitting the victim in the leg.

The victim was transported to Erlanger Medical Center.

Charges are still pending while deputies continue their investigation.
