Final preparations, campaigning as Election Day draws near

CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - The Hamilton County Election Commission sent out more than 100 voter machines across the county as Election Day draws near.

This comes after more than 15,000 Hamilton County voters already took advantage of early voting.

"I hope that many or more get tomorrow and vote," says election administrator Charlotte Mullis-Morgan.

Gubernatorial candidate Bill Haslam spent part of his day Wednesday in Chattanooga, after bringing University of Tennessee Head basketball coach, Bruce Pearl Tuesday.

Pearl faced backlash from other candidates on his endorsement, but Haslam says he's focused.

"We have been working really hard. It is like running a long race and seeing the finish line in sight and we want to make sure we finish strong. We have been all over the state the last three days and we are going to keep doing that," Haslam says.

Congressman Zach Wamp spent Election Day Eve in Nashville, greeting people at a restaurant for last minute momentum at the polls.

"It's all about our state. How to we make our state strong, the most competitive state in America economically? We have laid out this vision," says Wamp.

Polls open at 8:00 a.m. Eastern.
