EAST RIDGE, HAMILTON COUNTY (WRCB) – East Ridge Police say they arrested two teens who had broken into a store on Sunday.

Officers were responding to a burglary alarm at the Don Juan convenience store on Ringgold Road when they spotted a silver Honda across the street with the engine running.  As the officers approached the store, they say the Honda took off at a high rate of speed.

Authorities say when the officers stopped the fleeing car, they found a cash drawer and rolled coins inside.  Officers also say they 17-year-old Hispanic male driver had a suspended license.

When the officers returned to the store to investigate, they found the window smashed and a 16-year-old Hispanic male in the back room with several garbage bags filled with items from the store and the safe pried open.

Both teens were arrested and charged with Burglary and the Theft over $1,000. The driver was also charged with driving on a suspended license.
