CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) -- The staff at the Chattanooga Hotel make it their job to help out of town guests feel welcome.

On Friday, employees spread some hospitality at home. They went to Bess T. Shepherd Elementary to help with a few projects.

They varnished an outdoor classroom, painted bathrooms, and did some landscaping.

In the end, organizers say it is all about giving back to the community.

"It's a school we adopted last year. it's a school that had lots of projects they needed help with. We found out about it and worked with them last year. It's a school we've now adopted and will work with them every year," says Richard Pauley, of the Chattanoogan.

The Chattanoogan employees have adopted the school.

They helped get things in order for the start of in-service days on Monday.
