CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) – Police have arrested two men in connection with at least a dozen stolen cars.
According to Chattanooga Police, Adrian Hester and Darlomon Lowery have been charged with 12 counts of theft over $1,000.
Police say Hester and Lowery were stealing older model cars and selling them as scrap to the Bare Metals scrapyard on Market Street. Bare Metals, apparently unaware that the vehicles were stolen, were selling the cars for parts or crushing the vehicles.
Investigators say it was Bare Metals that helped connect the men to the cars.
Authorities believe the duo may be responsible for additional thefts, and more charges may be brought against them as the investigation continues.
