NASHVILLE (AP) - U.S. Sen. Bob Corker, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations and Energy and Natural Resources committees, will tour U.S. nuclear weapons facilities.

Corker begins his tour on Monday at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge.

He is conducting an assessment of U.S. nuclear weapons modernization plans as the Senate considers a new U.S.-Russia Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty.

The foreign relations committee has had 12 hearings on various aspects of the treaty this year.

He will also visit the national laboratories in Los Alamos and Sandia, N.M., later in the week.
