Police make more arrests in British Woods murder

CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - Chattanooga Police have announced more arrests in connection with a homicide that occurred in the British Woods apartment complex on the 26th of June.

According to CPD, Harold "Bam" Butler, III, and John "Cut Throat" Simpson were arrested and charged with the murder of Bernard Hughes.

Earlier this week, officers announced the arrest of Unjolee Moore in connection with the murder.  

Investigators say Moore served as the getaway driver while Simpson and Butler attempted to rob and ultimately killed Hughes.  Timothy Westfield, who was visiting Hughes at the time of the robbery, was shot in the hand and treated at an area hospital.

Butler is charged with Especially Aggravated Attempted Robbery and First Degree Murder.  Simpson is charged with Especially Aggravated Attempted Robbery, First Degree Murder and Attempted First Degree Murder.  Moore is charged with Attempted Aggravated Robbery, Aggravated Robbery and First Degree Murder.
