CHATTANOOGA (WRCB)-- A bunch of new laws went into effect Thursday, in Georgia.
The biggest perhaps, is the texting while driving ban. The grace period is one month, but after that you'll be fined 150-dollars if caught.
Also in effect today, drivers under the age of 18 are banned from using any cell phones while behind the wheel.
There are a few lesser-known laws that took effect. One such law is, you can't drive an a-t-v in a stream bed, except to cross it.
Another, state patrol cars can no longer have two-tone paint . A measure designed to save tax-payers 8-thousand dollars per car.
