CHATTANOOGA (WRCB)- Lookout Valley Elementary School will soon have its fourth principal in the past five years.

Regina Brock, currently assistant principal at Harrison Elementary and Lakeside Academy, was named the new principal at Lookout Valley Elementary School by Superintendent Dr. Jim Scales.

Ms. Brock begins her new duties on July 1 and replaces Justin Robertson, who is moving to Brown Middle School.

Here is a portion of the press release from Hamilton County Schools:

Ms. Brock participated in the Principal Workshops this year. The Principal Workshops, a collaboration between HCDE and the Public Education Foundation, gave aspiring principals information about becoming effective leaders on their campuses. HCDE partnered with PEF, the Chamber of Commerce and UTC this year to formalize the workshops and will open a formal Principal Leadership Academy this summer.

"Ms Brock will be a great fit for Lookout Valley Elementary," Dr. Scales said. "I knew right off she participated in the Principal Workshops. She knew her information and I am confident she will work with the Lookout Valley staff, students, parents and community members to continue traditions and improve student achievement."

Ms. Brock  began her career in education in 1978 as a teacher at Eastside Elementary in Dalton, GA. She moved to Hamilton County in 1985 as a teacher at Hixson Elementary. She moved to Lakeside Elementary in 1996 as a second grade teacher. She became the primary science lab teacher at Lakeside Academy in 1999. She was promoted to assistant principal at Lakeside Academy in 2006 and began to split her time between Harrison Elementary and Lakeside Academy in 2008. Ms. Brock holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a Master of Education degree in Reading from the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. She graduated from the Master's School Leadership Program at UTC in 2006.
