CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) -- Police have arrested a man accused of robbing a gas station at gunpoint and locking the clerk in the bathroom on Friday evening.

This happened in the daylight hours, around 8:30 p.m. at 2625 Dayton Boulevard.

The clerk says the robber took a wallet and money from the cash drawer.

When the Red Bank Police arrived on the scene, officers issued an alert to other officers to be on the lookout for a man meeting the suspect's description.

Detective Jeff Briden, with the Chattanooga Police Department, came to the scene. He was working a robbery from Signal Mountain Road from the night before. He compared notes with Red Bank patrol officer Billy Corn, and the two realized they may be looking for the same man.

The Major Crimes Division of the Red Bank Police Department along with CPD Detective Briden were able to locate and arrest Larry Eugene Quarles on Mountain Creek Rd.

He is charged with both robberies.
