CHATTANOOGA (WRCB)--Chattanooga firefighters responded to a house fire at 308 Rowe Road around 10:30 last night. Captain Chris Fryar with Engine 15 said flames were visible as the first firefighters arrived on the scene. The firefighters made a quick interior attack and managed to contain the fire to a couple of rooms.
Two adults reportedly lived in the house, along with several other guests. Naomi Lamar,95, said some of the appliances stopped working and after her son flipped the breakers back on, they started smelling smoke. All got out safely and one of them called 911. No injuries were reported.
The dollar loss was estimated at $30,000. Volunteers with the American Red Cross were called in to provide assistance to the family.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Chattanooga police, Hamilton County EMS and Chattanooga-Hamilton County Rescue also provided assistance on the scene.
