UPDATE: Jury finds Willis guilty
JONESBOROUGH, TN (AP) - An East Tennessee jury has found Howard Hawk Willis guilty for the murder of a young Georgia couple.
Willis was charged with first-degree murder in the killing of teenagers Adam Chrismer and Samantha Leming Chrismer of Chickamauga, Ga. Their bodies were found in a Johnson City storage unit after Adam Chrismer's head was found in a park lake and his hands were discovered nearby.
Willis chose not to testify on his own behalf, but in closing arguments said there was no evidence tying him to the murder weapon.
The jury began deliberating the case on Saturday.
