Meth lab found in car, 3 arrested

CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) – Three people are facing meth making charges after Chattanooga police discovered a suspected meth lab in the back of a car during traffic stop.

According to CPD, officers responded to a call of suspicious activity at the Comfort Inn at 4833 Hixson Pike.  The investigating officer pulled over a car containing Kirtus Thompson, Carly McMellon and Derrick Meeks.  The officer noted a strange odor coming from the back of a car and a backpack in the back seat with tubes coming out of it.

After a CPD narcotics officer was called to the scene, they officers were able to confirm a mobile meth lab along with an undisclosed amount of finished meth.

Meeks was taken to a local hospital to be treated for possible exposure.  McMellon and Thompson were taken to Hamilton County Jail.
