Assault and robbery in Athens, TN

ATHENS, TN. (WRCB)-- At around 1:45 Saturday afternoon one man and his girlfriend were assaulted and robbed at 512 Cleveland Avenue in Athens.

The victim Gabriel Coronado and his girlfriend Kendra Martin were visiting the residence when police say three black males began assaulting Coronado. The victim did not know two of the suspects.

During the assault, the suspects reportedly took Coronado's wallet containing his identification card and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Martin attempted to intervene in the altercation, but was pushed to the ground and had a knife pulled on her. She did not have any items stolen.

The first suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5'10, 215 lbs and in his late teens to early 20s.

The second suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5'9, 160 lbs and in his late teens to early 20s.

The third suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6'3, 300 lbs and in his late teens to early 20s.
