MURRAY COUNTY, GA (WRCB)-- At Monday night's school board meeting in Murray County, one student spoke up trying to save the JROTC program at Murray County High School.
He used statistics to explain to the board why this program is so important in the lives of the students involved.
Then he gave ideas of other places to cut spending in order to save the program.
Superintendent Vicki Reed agrees with this student, saying it is successful for a small group.
But she says enrollment has gone down each year...
"I think we can find alternative programs for the children, for leadership programs," says Reed.
Guidance counselors will help students find something else to get involved in.
Nearly two years after the state closed the Standifer Gap Road bridge, it still hasn't been replaced.
