NASHVILLE. (AP) - The Tennessee House of Representatives has adjourned until Tuesday.
Members of the House voted Friday to return next week to finish up this year's session. The Senate is scheduled to return on Saturday.
Despite not finishing this week, lawmakers were productive in that they passed a nearly $30 billion state spending plan on Friday that includes a relief program for Tennessee flood victims and saves a program to combat infant mortality.
Constitutionally, the state budget is the only measure state lawmakers are required to pass.
