LAFAYETTE, GA (WRCB)- Investigators in Lafayette, Georgia believe they may have a serial arsonist on their hands.
In the past three months, Public Safety Director Tommy Freeman tells Eyewitness News there have been four suspected arsons. The fires have been in the Linwood area and branched out onto Indiana, First and North Chattanooga Streets.
Freeman says the suspect, or suspects, is targeting vacant and abandoned homes, and using a liquid to ignite the fires.
Freeman says the state Fire Marshals Office is aiding in their investigation, because, in his three years, arson has been an ongoing problem.
Anyone with information is encouraged to call police. A $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of an arsonist.
