CHATTANOOGA (WRCB)- Here in Chattanooga the Center for Creative Arts loses a student just days after graduation.
18-year-old D.J. LaLonde died after a motorcycle accident on Highway 58.
He'd been fighting for his life for weeks. Friday night his family and friends are in shock.
D.J. Was set to graduate from the Center for Creative Arts last Saturday. His girlfriend accepted his diploma just days before he died.
D.J.'s father Daniel says he loved his motorcycle. D.J. Was riding to his dad's business from school the day of the accident.
Daniel says the last two months have been a roller coaster ride.
The LaLonde family says they're thankful for all the nurses and doctors at the Erlanger trauma unit.
They're asking donations be made to the A.R.D.S Foundation at Vanderbilt Hospital.
D.J.'s visitation is from 5 to 9 tomorrow, at Legacy Funeral Home in Soddy Daisy. A private funeral is scheduled for Sunday.
It happened shortly after 8 p.m. on McCutcheon Road near Lee Highway.
