CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - Chattanooga Police say it's too early to tell how a woman died on the banks of the Tennessee River at Rivermont Park.

Her body was found Thursday afternoon.

Eyewitnesses say it looked as if the woman was there to have her lunch.

She was found on the bank of the river, just in front of her car. A man fishing on the dock says he heard a woman screaming for help, she told Gary Broome that she was the woman's friend.

"I ran up there and asked what's going on. She said she was dead. I went up and looked and seen her face was gray and we called police," says Broome.

Investigators say the cause of death is undetermined at this point, and certainly possible that it was natural causes. Eyewitnesses did say a doctor was on the scene who said the woman worked for him and had just left the office about an hour earlier.
