UPDATE: WEDNESDAY, MAY 19th 5 PM

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) - Chattanooga Police say 37 year-old Antonio Wright forced his way inside this home, put a knife to Sophia Jones' throat, and demanded the woman leave with him.

Police say Wright stabbed the woman's 24 year old nephew, then Jones fought back.

She shot Wright somewhere in his upper body. He ran away, but not before severely beating Jones in the face.

"She has several stitches, staples in her head, in her head and shoulders," said Lt.. Kim Noorbergen, "but her injuries are non-life threatening at this point."

Police arrested Wright just a few miles away and quickly realized he's wanted for similar crimes committed last week.

"Our fugitive division has been looking for him, our patrol officers had a broadcast on him," said Noorbergen, "we've been looking for him since last week's incident."

Friday, police say Wright stabbed David Heathington in the neck and reportedly held a woman known only as "Smoke" against her will.

Wright, who spent years behind bars for murder, will likely head back to jail. For now he's in critical condition, facing a long list of charges.
