LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, HAMILTON COUNTY (WRCB) - Friends and family are remembering the life of a Chattanooga icon.

Dozens of guests gathered at this memorial for Mr. Lupton, all of here to pay their respects.

People started arriving to the service about 3:00 p.m., which started at 4:00 p.m.

About 200 names were on the guest list, including Chattanooga city councilmen Russell Gilbert and Manny Rico.

Many admirers were there as well as those who shared his vision for Chattanooga.

Lupton, who died Sunday, made a lasting impact on Chattanooga with significant financial contributions.

He spearheaded efforts that paved the way for places like the Tennessee River Park, and AT&T Field.

He also took time to carry on his father's vision of philanthropy with the Lyndhurst Foundation.

The service wrapped up around 5:00 p.m. and it was standing room only by that time.
