EAST RIDGE. (WRCB)- East Ridge police arrested 22-year-old Christopher J. Pickett after police saw him driving in the wrong traffic lane.

Pickett then tried to evade arrest by turning down Cemetery Road and speeding off.

The suspect almost hit a 16-year-old girl walking her pet when he traveled behind an apartment building.

The suspect was arrested once additional officers arrived at the scene and caught him while fleeing from his vehicle on foot.

During this investigation, police discovered Pickett is a suspect in an I-24 hit and run.

The suspect is being held at the Hamilton County Jail on charges of failure to maintain lane, reckless driving, felony reckless endangerment, and felony evading arrest.

He is due in court on May 18th and more charges could be pending.
